BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana Western track & field team got their outdoor season going this afternoon with the Yellowjacket – Battlin' Bear Icebreaker Meet at Lockwood High School.
Today's meet was the first meet of the season with numerous personal records for the Bulldogs and some impressive performances.
Results
Isaiah Thomas took first place in two events. He finished first in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.82. He also finished first in the men's 200m dash with a time of 22.39.
Brody Henry put up a personal record with a 2:03.43 in the men's 800m. He finished third in the race. Henry also raced in the men's 1500m and placed 10th with a time of 4:20.59.
Olivia Heiner had a personal record in the women's 800m with a fourth-place finish and a time of 2:31.22. Heiner also raced in the women's 1500m and placed 11th with a time of 5:12.95.
Layne Cooney made his track and field debut and finished fourth in the men's discus throw. He set a mark of 41.07m. He also finished seventh in the men's shot put with a mark of 12.28m.
Malia Cox had a personal record in the women's 200m with a sixth-place finish and a time of 28.81.
Maddie Yakos finished sixth in the women's 800m race with a time of 2:43.06. She also finished 12th in the women's 1500m with a time of 5:30.10.
Justene Santi placed eighth in the women's 800m with a time of 2:51.16. She also finished 14th in the women's 1500m with a time of 5:36.83.
Carson Bain found himself in ninth in the men's discus throw with a mark of 32.68m. He also placed ninth in the men's shot put with a mark of 10.91m.
Tad Tackes placed 10th in the men's shot put after he threw a personal record mark of 10.37m. He also finished 13th in the men's discus throw with a mark of 29.55m.
Carlin Onstad placed 19th in the men's 1500m race with a time of 4:49.50.
Heiner, Yakos, Santi, and Cox also finished sixth in the women's 4x400m relay with a time of 4:36.01.
