MISSOULA, Mont. – The Montana Western Track and Field team made their way out to Missoula where they competed at the Montana Open this afternoon. The Bulldogs were one of five Frontier Conference schools to compete in the meet, along with a select few NCAA opponents.
Results
On the Men's side,
Carson Bain and
Tad Tackes both competed in the men's shot put and the men's discus throw this afternoon. Bain finished in front in both events, recording a mark of 37.26m to place 12th in the discus and an 11.27m in the shot put to place 19th.
Two Bulldogs ran in the Men's 800m race with
Brody Henry finishing in eighth after running the race in a time of 1:58.95.
Kaden Hennessey followed in 15th with a time of 2:17.86.
Hennessey also competed in the men's 1500m, finishing in 10th with a time of 4:43.39.
Brant Heiner ran in the men's 5000m race, finishing in ninth overall with a time of 16:04.98.
On the Women's side,
Malia Cox competed in three events on the day. In the women's 200m race, she finished first in her heat with a time of 28.06. She followed up with a pair of 15th place spots in both the women's long jump and the women's 100m.
A pair of Bulldog women competed well in the women's 1500m race.
Olivia Heiner finished 13th overall in the race with a time of 5:07.72.
Maddie Yakos followed with her own time of 5:26.10 to finish 17th.
Heiner also competed in the women's 5000m race, finishing sixth overall with her time of 20:24.35.
Justene Santi's ninth place finish in the women's 3000m steeplechase came after she finished the event in a time of 12:46.89.

The Bulldogs will hit the road this upcoming week for their final chance before the Frontier Conference Meet. They will be traveling to Helena, Mont. where they will compete in the Trudnowski Open hosted by Carroll College.
