Bulldog Volleyball Picked Fourth in 2025 Frontier Conference Women’s Volleyball Coaches’ Preseason Poll

Helena, Mont. – Montana Western Volleyball landed fourth on the 2025 Frontier Conference Women's Volleyball Coaches' Preseason Poll, the league office announced Monday.

The Bulldogs were edged out by Bellevue, who landed the top spot in the poll, followed by Providence and Montana Tech (second and third, respectively).

"It's exciting getting picked fourth in the preseason poll, especially in this tough of a conference," UMW Volleyball head coach Katie Lovett said. "We are looking forward to the great competition night after night and all of the new opponents we get to face this year."

The Bulldogs are coming off a stellar 2024 campaign that saw them finish eighth in the country with a 25-10 overall record (10-5 in conference play). The highlight of the season came in the form of a commanding 3-1 victory over the one-ranked Northwestern (Iowa) in the second round of the NAIA National Tournament.

Coach Lovett returns 13 student-athletes from last year's squad, including right-side hitter Jordan Olson, who ranked second on the team last season in kills (358), kills per set (2.56), and total attacks.

Also back for the Bulldogs are setters Taylor Petersen and Megan Hardman, who finished the year in second and third in assists (616, 177), respectively. Petersen also topped the team in service aces in '24, and will look to continue that form this season.

Veteran Madisyn Frazier finished third on the team in both digs (422) and digs per set (3.15). Olson also contributed on the defensive end last season, ranking third on the team in total blocks (101).

UMW bolstered this season's roster with five freshmen, who will add depth in all aspects of play in 2025.
