BOZEMAN, Mont.– The Montana Westen Track and Field teams both placed fifth at the Montana Tech Winter Series #1 Friday. It was the first of two meets hosted by the Orediggers at the Kennedy-Stark Athletic Center in Bozeman.
On the track,
Wade Dahood ran a personal-best 8.76 in the men's 60H to place fifth while
Tyler Raine finished seventh with an 8.92.
Brody Henry clocked a 1:26.51 personal record in the 600m to take sixth.
Tristan Von Bargen placed 11th in the event with a 1:30.64 while
Bridger Wheeler finished 16th
(1:39.11).
In the men's 5000m,
Luke Crossley placed eighth with a time of 15:46.28.
Also competing in the men's 5000m were
Harrison Silverio (17:31.88, 24th),
Michael Reistroffer (17:46.02, 25th),
Cael Thilmony (18:07.99, 28th), and
Noah Rovente (18:22.51, 29th).
Justene Santi placed 16th in the women's 5000m, clocking a 21:29.01.
The men's 4x300m relay team (Henry, Von Bargen, Raine, Crossley) placed fifth with a time of 2:36.19.
In the field events,
Stanley Stremick placed second in the men's triple jump with a 12.69m (41-07.75) jump. He also earned third in the men's long jump with a 6.32m (20-09.00) effort.
Raelynne Briere took 10th in the women's long jump with a 4.39m (14-05.00) leap. She also placed seventh in the women's triple jump with a 8.91m (29-02.75).
Kendalyn Streck finished sixth in the women's shot put with a 11.37m (37-03.75) try.
Braden Kopp placed 16th with a 9.29m (30-05.75) throw.
Layne Cooney tossed a season-best 12.98 (41-03.25) in the men's shot put to place ninth. Justing Maier finished 15th with a 10.89 (35-08.75) in the same event.
Cooney also placed ninth in the men's weight throw with a 12.63m (41-05.25).
LOOKING AHEAD
The Bulldogs take to the track again Feb. 6 when they compete in the Carignan Classic, hosted by Montana State.
