Bulldog Track and Field to Compete at Trudnowski Open

DILLON, Mont. – The UMW men's and women's track and field teams travel to Helena this weekend to compete at the Trudnowski Open, hosted by Carroll College.

Trudnowski Open | Meet Schedule

The meet kicks off at 11 a.m. MT with the men's javelin. The running events are slate to begin at 11:30 a.m. with the women's 4x100m relay.

LAST TIME OUT
Both the men's and women's team took fifth at the second installment of the Montana Tech Spring Series last week.

On the men's side, Layne Cooney finished in the top 10 in two events, placing fourth in the men's discus and taking seventh in the men's hammer throw.

The women's results were highlighted two sixth-place finishes by Olivia Heiner (10,000m) and Braden Kopp (hammer throw).

24 UMW student-athletes are making the trip.

On the women's side, Sarah Clark (discus, javelin), Brielle Davis (discus, javelin), Cassie Green (shot put, discus), Haley Hodge (400H), Braden Kopp (shot put, discus), Justene Santi (5000m, 400H), Jocelyn Seefried (100m), Kendalyn Streck (shot put, discus), Ellie Stutsman (shot put, discus), and Kylee Wyatt (1500m) will compete

For the men's team, Kreg Butler (1500m), Layne Cooney (shot put, discus, javelin), Crossley (10,000m), Brody Henry (1500m, 800m, 4x400m), Mason Lynch (1500m), Justin Maier (shot put, discus), Raine (110H, 400H), Michael Reistroffer (1500m, 4x400m), Noah Rovente (1500m), Stanley Stremick (long jump, high jump), Tad Tackes (shot put, discus), Cael Thilmony (1500m), Tristan Von Bargen (1500m, 800m, 4x400m), and Bridger Wheeler (800m, 4x400m) will see action.

MEET THE FIELD
Six teams are set to compete in the meet, including Carroll, Montana Tech, MSU-Northern, Providence, Rocky Mountain, and Western.

LOOKING AHEAD
Following the Trudnowski Open, the Bulldogs head to Missoula, Mont., April 25 to take part in the Montana Open.
