Bulldog Track and Field Travels to Montana Open

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western men's and women's track and field teams are in Missoula, Mont., this weekend for the Montana Open, the final meet of the 2026 regular season.
 
 MEET COVERAGE

The meet kicks off at 12 p.m. MT Friday with women's hammer throw. Men's hammer throw, women's javelin, and men's javelin will follow.
 
Saturday's running events get started at 11:25 a.m. MT with the women's 3000m steeplechase. The second day of field events begins at 11 a.m. MT with the women's long jump.
 
 LAST TIME OUT 
Both the men's and women's team took fourth at Trudnowski Open last week.
 
On the men's side, Brody Henry (800m), Tyler Raine (110H, 400H), and Stanley Stremick (long jump) all won their respective events.
 
The women's results were highlighted by a podium finish for Justene Santi (400H).
 
 WHO'S WHO 
24 UMW student-athletes are making the trip.
 
On the women's side, Sarah Clark (javelin, discus), Brielle Davis (javelin, discus), Cassie Green (shot put, discus), Olivia Heiner (5000m), Haley Hodge (400m), Braden Kopp (shot put, discus), Justene Santi (3000m steeplechase), Kendalyn Streck (shot put, discus), Ellie Stutsman (shot put, discus), and Kylee Wyatt (1500m) will compete.
 
For the men's team, Kreg Butler (5000m), Layne Cooney (shot put, discus), Brody Henry (800m, 4x400m), Uzzaiah Kanewa (100m, 200m, 4x400m), Mason Lynch (5000m), Justin Maier (shot put, discus), Tyler Raine (110H, 400H), Michael Reistroffer (1500m, 800m, 4x400m), Noah Rovente (5000m), Stanley Stremick (long jump, triple jump), Tad Tackes (shot put, discus), Cael Thilmony (5000m), Tristan Von Bargen (800m, 4x400m), and Bridger Wheeler (800m) will see action.
 
 MEET THE FIELD 
10 teams are set to compete in the meet, including Montana, Carroll, Dawson CC, Eastern Washington, Montana State, MSU-Billings, MSU-Northern, Montana Tech, Providence, and Western.
 
 LOOKING AHEAD 
Following the Montana Open, the Bulldogs head to Dickinson, N.D., May 2-3 for the Frontier Conference Outdoor Championships.
