Western Track & Field Set for Jeff Rahn Classic, Montana Tech Spring Series #2

DILLON, Mont. – The UMW men's and women's track and field teams are back in action at two meets this weekend. Two Western runners will compete at the Jeff Rahn Classic, hosted by Whitworth, Friday in Spokane, Wash while 22 Bulldogs compete at the Montana Tech Spring Series #2 in Butte and Great Falls.

In Spokane, the meet kicks off Friday at 3:30 p.m. PT, 4:30 p.m. MT.

In Great Falls, the throws are set to start at 1 p.m. MT Friday with the men's hammer throwm followed by the women's hammer and men's discus.

In Butte, both running and field events have an 11 a.m. start Saturday. Up first on the track is the women's 10,000m while women's discus gets things started on the field.

LAST TIME OUT
Both the men's and women's team took fifth at the first installment of the Montana Tech Spring Series last week.

The men's results were emphasized by event wins by Luke Crossley (1500m), Brody Henry (800m), and Tyler Raine (110H).

The women's results were highlighted by fourth-place finishes for Justene Santi (400H) and Kendalyn Streck (shot put).

Santi (3000m steeplechase) and Henry (800m) will take to the track in Spokane.

For the Montana Tech Spring Series #2, Brielle Davis (javelin, discus), Sarah Clark (javelin, discus), Cassie Green (shot put, discus), Olivia Heiner (10,000m), Braden Kopp (hammer throw, shot put, discus), Jocelyn Seefried (100m, 200m), Streck (shot put, discus), and Ellie Stutsman (shot put, discus) are set to compete on the women's side.

For the men's team, Kreg Butler (3000m), Layne Cooney (shot put, discus, hammer throw), Crossley (10,000m), Uzzaiah Kanewa (100m, 200m), Mason Lynch (3000m), Justin Maier (shot put, discus), Raine (110H), Michael Reistroffer (3000m), Noah Rovente (3000m), Stanley Stremick (long jump, triple jump), Tad Tackes (shot put, discus), Cael Thilmony (10,000m), Tristan Von Bargen (400m), and Bridger Wheeler (400m) will see action.
