Bulldog VB Welcomes MSU-Northern and #8 Providence to Straugh Gymnasium

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western volleyball program (4-10, 3-4 FC) plays host to MSU-Northern (7-6,3-4 FC) and #8 Providence (10-4,4-3 FC) this weekend.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Montana Western slipped to 3-4 in conference after falling 3-0 to both Dakota State (20-25, 24-26, 19-25) and #16 Bellevue (22-25,18-25,24-26)

Against the Trojans, Averi Look and Savana Warburton tied to the team-high in kills with 11 apiece. Jaiden Perez hit a team-best .455. Jayda Ward (20) and Sophie Worden (15) combined for 35 assists. Madisyn Frazier led all players in both aces (three) and digs (16). Kennedy Lingenfelter and Antonia Duncan posted 3.0 blocks each to lead the Bulldogs.

Versus the Bruins, Look led the game in kills (13) while also hitting a team-high .458 clip. Worden dished out a game-best 24 assists. Ward and Frazier each landed one service ace. Frazier led tall players with 14 digs. Perez earned a game-high 4.0 blocks.

BULLDOG BEAT
The Bulldogs are averaging 11.9 kills, 10.9 assists, 1.3 aces, 15.2 digs, and 1.8 blocks per set in 2026.

The team's best tally in kills (63), assists (59), and digs (129) came against Dickinson State. The best hitting percentage came against The Master's (.254) while the highest tally in service aces was at Mayville State (16). UMW reached a season-high 80.0 points against both Mayville State and Valley City State. The Bulldogs season-high 15.0 blocks also came against the Vikings.

ACE UP HER SLEEVE
Madisyn Frazier matched her career high with three service aces against Dakota State.

BLOCK PARTY
Jaiden Perez recorded 4.0 blocks against Bellevue, marking her fifth outing this season reaching that mark or better.

FIRE AWAY
Averi Look hit over .400 in both matches last weekend. She posted a .429 clip against the Trojans and followed that up with a blistering .458 against the Bruins.

DISHING IT OUT
Maggie Schneiter posted a career-best nine assists against Bellevue.

CAN YOU DIG IT?
Madisyn Frazier has recorded at least 10 digs in each of the last four matches. Moreover, she has led the Bulldogs in digs in three-straight contests and nine times on the campaign.

LOOK OUT BELOW
Averi Look has totaled reached double figures in kills in three-straight outings. Additionally, she led the team in kills in each of those matches and has done so nine times this season.

HEAVY HITTERS
The Bulldogs reached their second-highest hitting percentage of the season against Bellevue (.244)

FEELIN' FINE AT THE SERVICE LINE
Montana Western's eight service aces against Dakota State ties for second most in a single-match in 2026, behind only the match against Mayville State (16).

SCOUTING REPORT
MSU-Northern (7-6, 3-4 FC)

The Skylights are averaging 11.3 kills, 10.9 assists, 1.3 aces, 18.4 digs, and 1.8 blocks per set in 2026.
Nationally, MSUN ranks sixth in digs per set (18.4).
Macy Uffelman paces the team with 2.5 kills per set, followed by Caleigh Case at 2.20.
Kendall Scheffelmear is hitting a team-high .319.
Emily Bird is dishing out a team-best 5.65 assists per set, followed by Addison Falls Down (4.15).
Kambria Maloy has earned a team-high 21 aces on the year while also leading the team in digs (5.90).
Case tops the team with 0.97 blocks per set.

Providence (10-4, 4-3 FC)

The eight-ranked Argos are posting 13.0 kills, 12.2 assists, 1.5 aces, 16.7 digs, and 2.1 blocks per set on the campaign.
As a team, Providence ranks 13th in the nation in assists per set (12.2) and 14th in kills per set (11.3).
Four Argos are averaging over 2.0 kills per set, led by Cabry Badley (2.84) and Martyna Fiedler (2.22).
Badley also paces the team in hitting percentage (.313) and blocks per set (1.06).
Araleigh Arnold is putting up a team-best 6.94 assists per set with Marli Lopeman close behind at 4.09.
Lopeman also tops the team in service aces (17).
Kyra Saiers is registering a team-high 3.79 digs per set.

SERIES HISTORY
The Bulldogs are 48-50 all-time against the Skylights and 22-47 all-time against the Argos.
