Goldie was a two year all-conference selection at offensive center.

Goldie graduated in December of 1961 and accepted a job to finish the school year at Twin Bridges, Montana. He then moved to Yoncalla, Ore. where he taught and coached football, track and wrestling. Goldie was the first wrestling coach in Yoncalla program history.

He left Oregon and returned to Montana for a one-year gig at Bonner, Mont., teaching seventh grade. From Montana he moved to Alberta, Canada for a short time before returning to Montana and his hometown of Deer Lodge for the position of Director of Education at the Montana State Prison.

In 1969, he purchased the Salad Bowl restaurant in Port Angeles, Wash. and renamed it Goldies Restaurant. He sold Goldies and purchased the Cottage Cafe and Fireside Lounge in Cle Ulm, Wash. in 1997 and continues to operate it to this day.
