Bulldog Athletic Hall of Fame
A 1993 graduate of Western with a degree in Secondary Education. During his Bulldog career, Scott earned All-Conference and All-District 12 honors as a linebacker his sophomore through senior seasons. In his senior season, he also received NAIA All-American Honorable Mention honors. Scott received sic Frontier Conference Player of the Week awards and one NAIA National Player of the Week Award. His career tackle record was broke in 2002 by Craig LeCoure. Two of his most memorable moments as a Bulldog include blocking a kick against Jamestown College in 1989 with four seconds left. The blocked kick was picked and returned for a touchdown by Mike Burke. The second come in 1990 when Western downed Carroll College 46-17 which ended Carroll’s five year, Frontier Conference unbeaten streak. His coaches were Mick Dennehy and Mick Delaney. His teammates include Bill Polk, Jason Sargent, Scott Harding, Jeff Choate, Bryan Mussard, Clay Keller, Jaren Whitman, Lance Condie, Bryan Davis, Mike Burke, and Hall of Famers J.P. Gallagher, Troy Lake, Paul Maki and fellow inductee Cory Bolton. Scott began his coaching career at Helena High School in 1993. In 1994, he added teaching to his duties. Scott was running backs coach through 2001. He became defensive coordinator in 2001. In June of 2002, Scott served as defensive coordinator for the Montana team in the Mon-Dak Classic All-Star football game. In addition to football coaching duties, he is also the shot and discus coach. Scott and his wife Krista are parents of three boys; Gabe, age 7; Zachary, age 21 months and Marous, age 2 months.
