Dan Connors, a native of Butte, Mont., is a 1953 graduate of Western Montana College (WMC) with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education.

Connors was a three-sport letterman for the Bulldogs, lettering in basketball, baseball and football. He earned all-conference honors in basketball and had the reputation as one of the best defensive players in the Montana Collegiate Conference (MCC).

After graduating from WMC in 1953, Connors was an intelligence officer in the United States Army. His teaching and coaching career began in Victor, Mont. followed by three years at Hinsdale, Mont. 

In 1960, Connors began a 15-year stint at Miles City Sacred Heart where his football teams were 113-15 and his basketball teams were 264-101 and both won numerous conference, district, divisional and state titles. He won Coach of the Year honors in both sports.

From 1974-1993, Connors was athletic director and head men’s basketball coach at Miles City Community College. He was named the Mon-Dak Coach of the Year twice. Connors was inducted into the Montana Coaches Hall of Fame in 1984.

Connors followed his brother Bill into the Bulldog Hall of Fame. His son-in-law Rik Rewerts was inducted in 1992 and his grandson Nik Rewerts followed in 2022.

He passed away Sept. 3, 2005
