Bulldog Athletic Hall of Fame
Received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Montana Western in 2000. She was a Dean’s List student at Montana Western during the fall of 1997, spring 1999, fall 1999 and spring 2000 semesters.
During her distinguished career as a Bulldog volleyball player, Stetson was a three-year Academic All-American (1997, 1998 and 1999); an NAIA Division I All-American Athlete in 1999; a member of the NAIA Northwestern Region First Team in 1998 and 1999; a Frontier Conference First Team athlete in 1998 and 1999; and the Montana Western MVP in 1998 and 1999.
Stetson also had a very successful athletic career in her native Oregon, winning several MVP awards in 1993 and 1995. Stetson was recently inducted into the Gallery of Champions at Marshfield High School in 2010.
Stetson said her most memorable moments at UMW include the warm reception she received upon her arrival to town, the camaraderie among the team on pre-season trips and tournaments, fireside chats in the field with professor Rob Thomas, serving on the Student Senate, working out a career path with professor Mark Krank, running to the “M” (now the “W”), practicing jump serves early in the morning thanks to former athletic director Rob Cashell and, last but not least, meeting her husband Kyle.
Since graduating at UMW, Stetson has been equally successful in the professional health field. She served as the regional marketing and sales director at Leisure Care in Bellevue, Wash. From 2002 to 2005; the director of community relations for Big Sky Senior Living in Butte, Mont. from 2005 to 2008; and the Powell County Medical Center Clinic Manager from 2008 to 2010. Stetson is currently the director of medical staff relations at St. James Healthcare in Butte, Mont.
Stetson has earned numerous employee awards, including being named one of Leisure Care Retirement Communities’ top five marketers of the year. An active volunteer, Stetson also donates her time to the Montana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, the RSVP Program, the Butte Alzheimer’s Advisory Council and Abby’s Senior Residence.
Emily and Kyle live in Butte and have three children together: Mya (7), Kyler (5) and Colt (2).
