A 1992 graduate of Western with a degree in Secondary Education. During his Bulldog career, J.P. earned All-Conference honors as a Free Safety all four years, second team honors his freshman year and first team honors his sophomore through senior seasons. He had 429 career tackles and started every game in his four years except for one. J.P. was voted team captain 1989, 90 and 91 and was the recipient of the Wade Davis Award as the team MVP in 1990. His most memorable moments as a Bulldog include losing to Carroll College 76-0 in 1988 and then beating Carroll 49-16 in 1990 ending Carroll’s five year, Frontier Conference unbeaten streak. His coaches were Mick Dennehy and Mick Delaney. His teammates include Mike Cutler, Scott Evans, Bill Polk, Jason Sargent, Jaren Whitman and Hall of Famers Troy Lake and Paul Maki. After graduation, J.P. taught and coached in both Chinook and Kalispell. For the past couple of years, he has been Sales Representative for Jostens. He will end his Jostens career in July and go back to coaching and teaching at Kalispell. J.P. and his wife Jennifer are the parents of Bryce, age 3 and Kylie, age 4 months.
