George McCormick, a native of Havre, Mont., spent six years as head coach of the Western Montana College (WMC) football and track teams.

His football teams were 26-16-5 during his tenure. The 1961 Bulldogs won the Montana Collegiate Conference title (MCC) with an unbeaten league mark. The team was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.

His track teams were even more dominant, winning five straight MCC and District 5 titles.

Many of the players he coached in both sports have been individually inducted into the Hall of Fame.

In addition to his coaching duties, he taught physical education classes and was the Dean of Men. McCormick resigned in 1962 to enter private business in Arizona.
