Jesse Peterson, a native of Helena, Montana, is 1992 graduate of Western Montana College with a degree in tourism and recreation. 

Peterson was the Big Sky Regional Champion steer wrestling champion in 1990 and 1991, and the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) National Champion steer wrestler in 1991 and 1992. 

In his professional rodeo resume his impressive as well, his achievements include the steer wrestling title and the $50,000 round at the Calgary stampede; Steer Wrestling Champion at the Dodge National Circuit Finals, and two-time Montana Circuit Finals Steer Wrestling Champion. 

Peterson was coached by Wayne Else and his teammates included Jim Garrison, Pete Petersen, Ken Holland, Jess Martin, Shannon Wortman, Dan Mulkey, Jody Wacker, and Todd Garrison. 

He is married to WMC Volleyball Hall of Famer Jenny Peterson. They are the parents of sons Justus and Jace.
