Dave Dearcorn, a native of Powell, Wyo., is a 1971 graduate of Western Montana College with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education.

Dearcorn was a three-year football letterman and a two time (1968, 1969) first team all-conference selection at defensive tackle. He was a member of the 1969 Frontier Conference championship team. His all-conference laurels attracted the attention of professional football scouts, but Dearborn chose instead to begin his career.

After graduation, he began a career in mining, first in Rocky Springs, Wyo. He moved to Decker, Montana to open the coal mine Spring Creek. Dearborn and family later located to Dayton, Wyo.

After retiring from the mining world, Dearcorn worked for the Wyoming Game and Fish. Whether it was mining or the outdoors with the Game and Fish, he always found time to coach the area youth. He coached all sports but football remained his favorite.

Dearcorn passed away peacefully Feb. 6, 2023, at his home in Dayton, Wyoming.
