George “Shoes” Lots, former PE building supervisor, student athlete supervisor and guardian, gatekeeper and bus driver extraordinaire, was originally hired by coach Bill Straugh to look after the PE Complex. Little did Bill know, George would really turn out to be the man in charge. Lots soon would perform many duties expected of an athletic director. Lots and his wife, Mary Ann, helped many students out when they were a little short on money or needed a home cooked meal. George Lots is to be remembered for being a caring, humble man who gave his all to Western athletics and to Western students and staff, and who has made Western’s Hall of Fame a brighter and warmer place.
