Van Puckett graduated with a Biology
degree in 1996 from the University of
Montana Western. During college, he
played Bulldog football from 1989-1993.
He played as a center on the offensive line
for the 1993 Bulldog team that claimed
the conference co-championship that year.
Puckett was named to the all-conference
second team in 1992, the all-conference
first team in 1993 and was an honorable
mention All-American.
He currently lives in Twin Bridges, Mont.,
with his wife Heather along with their
six children and works for the U.S. Army
Reserve.
“I have been very blessed with my life since
Montana Western,” said Puckett. “My wife
Heather and I started out teaching and
coaching all over Montana while raising
our family and later moved onto other
pursuits. I am now teaching again as a
nurse in the U.S. Army Reserve, and we live
just down the road from Dillon.”
