Bulldog Athletic Hall of Fame
West Hernandez graduated from the
University of Montana Western in 2003
with a bachelor’s of business and communications.
During his athletic career at
UMW, West played on the men’s golf team
and men’s basketball team. He was a member
of the All-Frontier First Team for men’s
golf multiple years, Academic All-Conference
Men’s Basketball, and received the
Vanderzanden Award for men’s basketball,
all while making the Dean’s List throughout
his sports career at Montana Western.
Since 2007, West has worked at Northwest
College in Powell, Wyo. as admissions
manager, where he’s also assisted with
the men’s basketball team. In 2012 and
2013 he was awarded the Northwest
College Outstanding Service Award
and nominated for Employee of the Year
amongst the Wyoming Community
Colleges.
West and his wife, Katie, have three children,
Landon, Emery and Paxton.
