Jim Miller, a native of Liberty, Missouri, is a 1961 graduate of Western Montana College with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education.

Miller moved to southwestern Montana when his father bought a ranch in Beaverhead County.

He was a four-year football letterman and a four-year starter at quarterback. Miller, a two time all-conference selection, was a dual-threat for the Bulldogs as a runner and a passer.

One of his career highlights was a four touchdown pass performance in a 47-6 thrashing of Northern Montana College in a drizzle of rain mixed with sleet.
