A 1992 graduate of the University of Montana-Western with a degree in secondary education. Mick transferred to Western from Utah State where he qualified for the NCAA National Tournament. At Western, he won two District titles and was NAIA National Champion in both of his seasons at Western. His overall collegiate record was 116-0-3. He was coached by T.J. Nelson, and his teammates include Hall of Famer Troy Lake, along with Ernie Molina, Tim Lusso, Phil McCluskey, T.R. Williams, Corey Bolton to mention a few. The Bulldogs finished 3rd and 4th at the National Tournament in the two years Mick won his titles. His most memorable moments include of course his two national titles, and the lifelong friendships he made with his teammates. After graduation he taught and coached wrestling for three years. He coached 18 state qualifiers and five Montana champions. He then entered the private sector where he ran a guide service for three years. For the past four and a half years, he has been a manager at a manufacturing company. He is the father of two sons Micky, age 11, Toby age 9 and Mariah age 7.
