Larry Anderson of Missoula, Mont., was a four-year Bulldog basketball letterman. In those four seasons, Anderson earned second-team all-conference honors twice.

The Bulldogs won the Montana Collegiate Conference (MCC) basketball championship in 1955-56 with a 9-1 conference mark. All of Western’s starting five earned all-conference honors including Anderson’s second team selection.

In the 1956-57 season Western finished second in the conference but qualified for the NAIA regional tournament where they edged Eastern Montana 67-64 in the semis and lost to Northwest Nazarene in championship game 77-64. Anderson was one five Bulldogs earning all-conference honors.

Anderson also competed one year in football. He graduated in 1958 with a degree in secondary education. Anderson majored in social studies and minored in physical education. He began his teaching and coaching career at St. Regis, Mont.
