Winans graduated from Western in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a double major in history and physical education. Twice his team's leading scorer and rebounder, Winans was a two-time All-Conference pick. He led the conference in rebounding in 1972 and’73. His senior year he was first team All-District and Honorable Mention All-American. Mark makes his home in Medford, Oregon.
