Jim Jenkins, a native of Belgrade, Mont., is a 1958 graduate of Western Montana College (WMC) with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education with a major in physical education and a minor in social studies. 

He was a four-year letterman in both basketball and track. Jenkins was an honorable mention all-conference selection in basketball in 1956-57 and a first team selection in 1957-58.

During the 1956-57 season, he led the Bulldogs in field goal percentage with a 56.5 percent average.

He was a member of the 1957-58 Bulldog team that captured both the Montana Collegiate Conference (MCC) and District 5 titles and advanced to the NAIA national tournament. 

At the national tournament, WMC won their opening round game becoming the first Bulldog team to win at the national tournament and only the second District 5 team to win at nationals.

Jenkins was a member of the 1957 MCC championship track team. He tied for first in the high jump at the 1957 conference meet. The 57’ team won four team titles during the season.

Jenkins was active on campus as a member of M-Club and serving as junior class vice-president. His younger brother Ken is also in the Bulldog Hall of Fame.
