Cindy Bennett, a native of Helena, Montana, is a 1987 graduate of Western Montana College with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education in physical education and library science. She later obtained a Masters of Education in curriculum and instruction from the University of Montana.
She was a two-time all-conference volleyball selection. Her resume includes a conference and district player of the week award.
After graduation, Bennett taught and coached volleyball four at Rocky Boy High School in Agency, Montana. Bennett returned to Dillon and began a 26-year career at Beaverhead County High School, including a four-year run as head volleyball coach.
She was an assistant coach at Montana Western under Jenny Peterson. The stint with Peterson included three conference championships.
Bennett tried early retirement and returned to her hometown. Retirement didn’t agree and she returned to the workforce at Carroll College.Â
Her induction into the Bulldog Hall of Fame was historic. Bennett joined her dad Bill in the Hall becoming the first father-daughter duo. Her cousin entered the Hall a few years later for a real Bennett family affair.
Her daughter Teresa is also a Montana Western grad. When not at work, she likes to spend time with family, especially her two granddaughters Jordi and Harli.
