After 10 years with the Dillon Tribune newspaper, Chuck was chosen by then Western president Jim Short to establish the college’s Office of Information. In that position, he occupied key roles in publicity, publications, recruiting, fund raising and alumni reorganization. His sports stories and features were carried by the major wire services and countless newspapers from coast to coast. Sports Illustrated publish ed 'h is article on Don Campbell, Western’s Hall of Fame pitcher. Chuck and his wife, Evelyn (a 1989 Meritorious Service Award recipient) make their home in Dillon.
