Montana Western, University of

Dick Maroney, a native of Kalispell, Mont., is a 1965 graduate of Western Montana College (WMC) with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education.

Maroney earned all-conference honors as an offensive end after his junior season and as a linebacker after his senior season. He was a member of the 1961, 1962 and 1963 conference championship football teams.

Off the football field, Maroney was active on the WMC campus in the M-Club, industrial arts club, intramurals and in the WMC band.

After graduation, Maroney enjoyed a long and productive career in education and coaching. His nephew Mike Maroney was inducted into the Bulldog Hall of Fame in 1998.
