Of Great Falls, played football at Western from 1989 to 1993. He was a four-time all-conference player and a two-time All-American offensive lineman. He as picked All-Conference four times, all-district three times and NAIA All-American twice. His coaches were Dennehy, Delaney and Bob Beers, and teammates included Brian Poole, Scott Miller, Mat Lubick, Van Puckett, Bobby Beers, and Western Hall of Famers Corey Bolton, Dan Olson and Manny Garza. He said his most memorable athletic moment was also the ‘93 win over Carroll. Schoenen, since graduation, was a graduate assistant at Rocky Mountain for one year, then coached and taught at St. Maries, Idaho. He went on to Greenwich, Conn., to coach before he moved back to Montana and coached track at Missoula Big Sky. He has been teaching and coaching in Ridgecrest, Calif., the past five years.
