Bulldog Athletic Hall of Fame
Longtime Western advocate, Evelyn Stauffer has been chosen to the elite Hall of Fame at Western Montana College of the University of Montana.
Stauffer has given generously of her time to the Bulldog athletic program. She has been a “behind-the-scene” worker, taking tickets, assisting with calling in the scores and an ardent fan attending in-town and out-of-town games for many years, a college spokeswoman said. Stauffer was also a member of the academic ranks, and started the Business Department at Western. Through the years, Stauffer held many positions at Western, including that of English and business instructor, acting-registrar, placement director and secretary to the president.
She has also been the recipient of many awards. In addition to being named Dillon’s Outstanding Woman in 1975, she earned the Alumni Service Award in 1982. Stauffer is surprised and truly honored to be chosen to the Hall of Fame. "Having known most of Western’s Hall of Famers, and having watched them perform so well in the athletic arenas, it is a very special feeling to now join this exceptional group,” Stauffer said.
