Bulldog Athletic Hall of Fame
Jason Truman, a native of Eureka, Montana, rewrote the Bulldog football record books during his career (1993-1996). He was part of three straight Bulldog Frontier Conference championship teams including a 17 game conference win-streak.
Truman was the conference MVP and an NAIA first team All-American in 1994 and 1995. He earned second team all-conference honors in 1993 and 1996 and was asecond team All-American in 1996.
He earned 13 Frontier Conference Player of the Week awards, nine NAIA National Player of the Week awards and MVP honors for two NAIA playoff games. Truman was selected the 1995 NAIA Player of the Year in Bob Griese’s College Football magazine and was a nominee for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award.
By the time his Bulldog career was over, he had set 17 individual school records and helped set six team records. In his 39-game career he was 905 of 1,468 passing for 11,450 yards and 105 touchdowns. In individual total offense, his career totals were 845 yards rushing and 11, 450 yards for 12,295 yards (315.2 yards per game).
After a year of professional football in Germany, Truman returned to Montana and entered the construction industry. In 2014, he joined the staff at Beaverhead County High School in Dillon, Montana as industrial arts and driver training instructor.
In addition to his teaching duties, Truman is an assistant coach in football, and track and field (pole vault and high jump).
Jason and his wife Shannon are the parents of Cole and Kelsy.
