Clay Robinson, a native of Manhattan, Mont., is a 1971 graduate of Western Montana College (WMC) with a degree in secondary education. Robinson was a four-year basketball letterman, a three-year all-conference, a three time all-district selection and an NAIA honorable mention All-American.

Nicknamed “Mr. Inside,” Robinson led the Bulldogs in rebounding in each of his WMC seasons. In his final home game as a Bulldog, he scored 28 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in a come-from-behind 81-72 District 5 win over Northern Montana College.

The win, the second over the Lights in the playoffs, propelled Western to the 1969 NAIA national tournament. In the best of three district playoff series against Northern, Robinson scored 63 points and grabbed 34 rebounds.

After graduation, Robinson enjoyed a productive career as a teacher, coach and administrator in Montana.
