Chuck Johns, a native of North Bend, Ore., is a 1965 graduate of Western Montana College (WMC) with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education.

Like many Hall of Fame members, Johns was a two sport student-athlete for the Bulldogs. He competed in basketball and baseball, earning all-conference honors in both.

In basketball, he was an all-conference honorable mention selection after his sophomore season. In his all-conference season, Johns led the Bulldogs in rebounding and averaged nearly 10 points per game.

In baseball, Johns was a hard-throwing pitcher for the Bulldogs. In the 1965 conference and District playoffs, he threw an eight-hitter in a 4-2 WMC win over Eastern Montana College.

He maintained a high GPA and was selected to Who’s Who his senior year. Johns was also an active member of M-Club.

After graduation, he returned to his home state of Oregon for a long and successful career as an educator and coach.
